Lumbar Brace with Adaptable Step-Down Support

The Optec Venum Stock LSO & TLSO are streamlined orthotics that wicks away perspiration. The brace features a dual pulley back panel and inset drawstrings that allow for high compression with minimal force. The brace is composed of lightweight mesh and consists of four rigid, detachable panels. Patients can wear the lightweight and breathable brace almost undetectably under clothing.

The VENUM TLSO KIT features an innovative single drawstring pulley closure system to increase support and compression with minimal effort from sacrococcygeal junction to the thoracic inferior scapular spine. The VENUM TLSO KIT rigid panels contour to your patient’s lordotic curve and abdomen resulting in comfort, control and increased compliance.

① A Cochrane Review found that lumbar supports are “effective for improving functional status” in patients with acute, subacute and chronic low back pain based on 3 high quality trials with a total of 410 patients (Cochrane Rev. CD001823, 2008).
② A 2009 clinical trial studying 197 patients with subacute low back pain found significantly more LSO users, 60% versus 40%, totally weaned off medication by trial’s end (Spine. 2009;34930:p215).
③ The authors of a 2011 pain management study praise the rapidity of symptom relief - viewing lumbar supports as a safe, non-invasive, cost-effective , non-pharmacologic tool for home use in pain flare-ups (Prac Pain Manage.p106).
④ Research studies find no adverse effects on either abdominal or back muscle strength (Joint Bone Spine. 2008 75(1):58, J Spinal Disord. 1992.;5(3):260).
⑤ A 2012 study of 40 patients with chronic low back pain found no negative changes in the paravertebral muscles after 6 months of use (Fukushima J Med Sci. 2012;58(1):60-65)
